I've always been a fan of woodworking. It's one of the things I got into early as a kid, fuelled by the teachings of my amazingly versatile dad (woodworking, model trains, electronics, plumbing, auto repair...). I waned for a good number of years when intervening things took precedence, but has never been pushed far from the spotlight. I've made mostly simple things, like a plywood rack case for my recording gear, and a bunch of sets of speakers, but I'm seriously coontemplating a real project, since my dresser desperately needs replacement.

I currently use a Ryoby BT3000 table saw, with some goofy extensions to give me abotu a 6' rip capacity. My other tools are by the likes of PC, B&D, DeWalt, Marples, Stanley, et al. I'd really love to have a joiner and a plane, so I could do close tolerance work with real wood instead of always using ply and MDF.
