Simulations of Shiva/PR Combos

So you wanna build a PR box? Me too.

Lambda Acoustics has the PRs modeled below. They are model number 15PR-1400. For those of you playing along at home, that's a 15" passive radiator loaded with 1.4kg of mass. They sell for US$79 each, plus shipping. Nick is a good guy. Give him your business. And tell him you saw this on the Official Shiva Gallery site.

Anyway, on to the Sims. Please note, that these are unverified simulations. There is a lot of hot debate abotu whether or not the gains shown in the graphs are real or not. I firmly believe they are, btu the amonut and mechanism of that gain is still not completely quantified. I am sure tht a single Shiva with a pair of the 15" PRs wil move a s***load of air. That's a good thing.

Doug Stabler was kind enough to do the siumulations for me, and he sent along the following graphs. He also sent this note:

I have yet to see any verification that the 2 Pr boxes actually
produce the kind of gain predicted by Bass Box and will continue to
have my doubts till someone actually builds one and tests it outdoors.

I'm tempted to agree with him.

Of course, I haven't built any of these yet, but I hope to in the near future. My plan is for the single Shiva in a 2 cubic foot box with 2 PRs, stuffed heavily, as that's how they were modeled. Of course it'd be a stereo pair of those, but I'm just nuts. For the exact modeling data:
