This is one of my first SR designs that I think actually has promise. Here's the stats: P.Audio D180/2241 (T/S Params) This is a poor man's JBL2241H (8 ohms). The design also works for the real JBL driver. The box will look something like this: It'll be about four feet tall, a little over two feet wide and about two feet deep. I'm still working out the specifics, and there wil be a shelf brace or two added for stability, along with lots of 3/4" x 11/2" plywood strips for stiffeneing the big areas.. Simulation data: Frequency response of the drivers in the box Power handling of the bove mentioned box (one driver) The P.Audio drivers go for about $250 each (half what the JBLs cost). With wood, hardware and carpet, a pair of these boxes should be able to be completed for well under a grand, maybe even under $750 if you're good. Comments? email me.
