This is one of my first SR designs that I think actually has promise. Here's the stats:
  • Eminence Delta 12LF 12" midbass driver
This gem will take it's full rated 300W from 20Hz on up in 1.7cuft box, giving an F3 of about 57Hz. Perfect for use with subs, or use them solo for PA use. About $77 from MCM Electronics qty 1, or about $55 if you get 4 or more..
  • Selenium D205Ti Compression Driver
It's more money than the P.Audio I was planning on using, but it goes lower and those who have heard both say it's a little clearer up top. I like it. It's almost hi-fi.
  • No name 60x40 horn.
I can't afford the JBL flat front bi-radial that I want, so this is the next best thing. It's a 60x40 unit, and it's supposed to load down to 800Hz. It's made of polypropylene, and seems very neutral.

These are some basic plans:

It's about 2 feet tall, a little over a foot wide and about a foot and a half deep. The box has about a15 degree side slope that 60deg horn arrays seem to need.Splay for arraying will be required.

Simulation data:

Flyble? Sure, as soon as I determine the C.G. points. I'm going to use the 2x2 brackets from either ATM or Allen and have a box pull tested (liability you know). Using decent wood I should get at least 500lbs from each box. That'll be enough to dead hang them 3 deep :-)
