This page is the little corner of the net dedicated to my DH220. I've got pictures, mod information, and a bunch more.

These pictures suck. A bunch. But here they are anyway...
- Picture 1 My DH220, front view. The image is so bad you can't see the scratches on the front, and the power button is hard to make out. Someday I'll post better pics, I promise.
- Picture 2 The guts of my DH220, from the back. Showing the (then incomplete) RCA conversion and the bridging switch (barely visible on the left heatsink between the FETs).
- Picture 3 The guts of my DH220 from the front. Nothing special here, I ahvent' even upgraded the power switch. Eventually, the gaping space on the left will be home to low voltage regulators, a la POOGE.
- Picture 4 Extreme closeup! OK, not quite, but it's up close and personal with the bridging switch. Up is mono, down is stereo. Min impedence in mono mode is about 6 ohms nominal. It can dip to 4, but not for very long...things get too hot too fast.

DH-220 Mods:
I've put some cheap RCA jacks on it (RatShack specials). They're infinitely better then the aluminium POS jacks that came from the factory.
I used a pair of nylon shoulder bushings (1/4" or so ID, 5/16" OD on the barrel, 7/16" flange OD.
I cut the barrel off a little less then 1mm from the flange. Basically, you're going to make a washer with a bit of a lip on it. Then , just install the new RCAs with the nylon washer on the outside of the case (between the jack and the case) and use a 1/4"ID brass washer between the inside of the case and everything else (solder lug, lockwasher, locknut, in that order).
No more cleaning the RCA jacks every week now :-)
I plan to add some bigger caps to the beast. Right now the factory 10KuF caps that came with it measure a whopping 6200uF. Well, after almost 20 years what do you expect?
